book
“[no sound]”
<task>
In a BHSAD student project I had to lay out and print a book on the theme of sound. I chose a narrower topic, noise and silence, and looked for a way to convey them through layout alone, without telling it in words.

<idea>
What does silence look like on a page? I wanted to show it as text that is almost invisible: grey lines merge with the background, and rare black phrases stay as separate spots. With noise it’s the opposite: the text gets bigger, lines overlap, and the page feels crowded. You don’t read this book, you leaf through it to feel the difference.
